Dr. Voisine received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston. He received his MD degree from the School of Medicine at the State University of New York in Buffalo. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Rochester and the New England Medical Center in Boston.
Dr. Voisine began his career in Monterey, California where he served as Chief of Anesthesiology at Natividad Medical Center. While in Monterey he practiced palliative care medicine, with a special interest in pain management and the nutritional needs of cancer patients. He was elected President of the Monterey County Medical Society in 2001 and served as a volunteer medical director for Laguna Seca Racew ay and staff physician for the Rotary Free Medical Clinic in Seaside, California.
As founder of CMEstar, Dr. Voisine wrote, edited and produced CME / CEU accredited programs concentrating on evidence based medicine for nutrition, weight loss, and nutritional supplements. His programs were attended by over 1200 physicians, nurses and pharmacists. He returned to his home state in 2004 where he farms locally, focusing on nutrient dense vegetables and fruits. He is the first commercial grower of the Saskatoon Berry (Amelanchier alnifolia) in Maine. Dr. Voisine co-founded the weight loss program with Dr. Weisberg which is based on similar science to the Zone nutrition plan.
